How can I buy a ticket for the 42nd Polish Film Festival?


The sale of tickets for the 42nd Polish Film Festival will start at the beginning of September on the www.system.festiwalgdynia.pl website (NOTE! Logins from the previous years are inactive. Please re-register). Tickets will also be available in Festival cash boxes located on the ground floor of Waterfront Centre and in the Gdynia Film Centre. Passes and accreditation are also available for sale.

Why does my login from the previous years not work?

Logins from the previous years are inactive. Please re-register at www.system.festiwalgdynia.pl.


What types of tickets are there?


Types of tickets:

  • single normal ticket available in online sale and Festival cash boxes,
  • single reduced ticket available only in Festival cash boxes,
  • group (reduced) tickets for organised groups of minimum 15 persons, available in cinema cash boxes with prior e-mail booking (kino@gcf.org.pl),
  • group (normal) tickets for organized groups of minimum 15 persons, available in cinema cash boxes with prior e-mail booking (kino@gcf.org.pl),
  • single ticket for screenings within the Young Cinema Section and the Short Film Competition.

How can I pay for the ticket?

There are two options: buying a ticket through the Internet sale system, you should pay the amount due within 48 hours from the moment of submitting your order using the electronic payment system offered on the website (DotPay) or approaching the Festival ticket boxes, collecting the ticket no sooner than one day prior to the screening.

Can I return the ticket bought?

No, the tickets bought are non-returnable.


Can I buy a pass for the Festival?

Yes, the Festival pass is designed for 34 points (1 point corresponds to 1 film screening) and it authorises its owner to watch the greatest possible number of films during the Festival (6 Festival days, 5 screenings each, which gives us 30 screenings in total). The additional 4 points are envisaged as reserve in case of not making it to the screening and not cancelling the booking (for each unused booking, 4 points are deducted from the account).

What types of passes are there?

Types of passes:

  • normal pass,
  • reduced pass, intended for students under 26 years, with a valid student card to be presented upon receipt of the pass, for persons over 60 and for the disabled,
  • one-day entrance slips for the screenings on the Large Stage of the Musical Theatre.


What does the pass authorise to?


The pass authorises to entrance for screenings in Multikino, in the Gdynia Film Centre, and on the New Stage of the Musical Theatre.

How can I buy a pass for the Festival?

The sale of passes for the 42nd Polish Film Festival will begin on 7th of September 2017 on the www.system.festiwalgdynia.pl website (NOTE! Logins from the previous years are inactive. Please re-register). A pass can also be purchased in September 2017 in Festival cash boxes located on ground floor of the Waterfront Centre, Waszyngtona 21.

Where can I collect my pass?

A pass can be collected at the Service Point located on ground floor of the waterfront Centre, where Multikino is placed as well, at presentation of an ID with a picture.

Can I buy accreditation for the Festival?

There are 3 types of accreditation:

  • media accreditation – intended for the representatives of the media (radio, press, television, the Internet) and for photoeditors,
  • observer’s accreditation – intended for persons profesionally not related to the flm and/or media industry,
  • industry accreditation – intended for the representatives of the film industry, i.e. producers, distributors, film institutions’ representatives, film events’ representatives and other persons related to the film market in Poland and abroad.


What does accrediation entitle to?


Each type of accreditation entitles to participation in film screenings held in all the Festival locations. Accreditation – similarly as a pass – is designed for 34 points. The mechanism of working of the points is the same as in the case of a pass.


How can I buy accreditation?

The sale of accreditation is conducted through the website of the sale and booking system of the Polish Film Festival, available at the address: www.system.festiwalgdynia.pl (NOTE! Logins from the previous years are inactive. Please re-register).

Where can I collect accreditation?

Accreditation can be collected at the Festival Reception located in the Musical Theatre (right wing of the building, entry from Plac Grunwaldzki side), at presentation of an ID with a picture.

Since when can booking a seat for a selected screening be made?

Booking can be made from the day preceding the screening, 8.30 am, but no later than 15 minutes before the start of the screening. For owners of accreditation, entrance for film screenings held on the Large Stage of the Musical Theatre is possible without prior booking of a seat.

What to do if I want to go to another film than initially planned?

You should cancel the booking and make a new one. A booking can be cancelled no later than 15 minutes before the screening. In case of failing to cancel a booking and not coming to a screening, 4 points will be deducted from the account.

Where can I cancel a booking?

A booking can be cancelled in any of the Festival locations (the Musical Theatre, the Gdynia Film Centre, Multikino) and in Hotel Gdynia, using specially prepared stands with access to the Internet. The booking application with a cancellation option works with any device with access to the Internet.


Can a pass/accreditation be given to somebody else?

No, passes and accreditation are personal, they contain the name and surname, as well as the picture of a person who bought the pass/accreditation.


How to add a picture to a pass/accreditation?

When ordering a pass and filling in your personal data (prior to this you need to register at the sale system website available at www.system.festiwalgdynia.pl), you will find a button “add a picture to the pass/accreditation”. A picture can be added in the same way as an attachment to an e-mail. Only a picture saved on the drive can be added.
