Contest for the Artistic Director of the Polish Film Festival announced

The organizers of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia are waiting for applications for the position of Artistic Director until April 16, 2020.

The Artistic Director of the Polish Film Festival will be selected by the Contest Committee chaired by Joanna Kos-Krauze. The Committee includes seven directors and film producers, winners of Golden and Silver Lions: Renata Czarnkowska-Listoś, Joanna Kos-Krauze, Jan P. Matuszyński, Ewa Puszczyńska, Małgorzata Szumowska, Janusz Zaorski, and Xawery Żuławski. The Festival Program Board decided about the composition of the Contest Committee.

The position of Artistic Director of the Polish Film Festival was restored as part of the organisational reform of the Festival. The changes were carried out as a result of extensive consultations with the Polish filmmakers’ community and in response to their demands.

The Artistic Director of the Polish Film Festival should guarantee professionalism and objectivity in the selection of competition films. Candidates for this position must have at least five years of experience working or cooperating with the broadly understood film industry. Due to the epidemiological situation, candidates may submit applications for the contest electronically. The work of the Contest Committee and interviewing the Candidates will be conducted remotely using electronic tools.

The 45th Polish Film Festival will be held on September 14-19, 2020 in Gdynia.
